Nose is the most prominent part of the face and contributes most to the looks of a person. A deviated nose can be a cause for low self esteem in many though correcting external shape is a personal choice. But functionally, deviated nose can cause a bothersome nasal obstruction or a reason for sinus disease.
Septoplasty is an operation designed to remove the deviated portion of the nasal septum. This operation is performed for patients with nasal airway obstruction, who are unable to move air through their nose. Most of the septal corrections can be done intra-nasally/intra-corporeal but few cases require extra-corporeal septoplasty. It means, taking out the cartilaginous part of nasal septum, correcting its deviation and the putting it back in the nose. Even those deviations which are not amenable to closed septoplasty get corrected with this procedure and breathing becomes normal. Dr. Duggal has got one of the largest series of extra-corporeal septoplasties in the region.
A Turbinate (Concha) is the normal bulging area on the lateral wall of the nose. Out of the main three turbinates, inferior of sometimes middle ones need some reduction in size or shape and the procedure is known as turbinoplasty.
In a turbinoplasty, the goal is to reduce the turbinates enough to improve your breathing and sinus drainage, while preserving enough tissue for normal turbinate function.
We offer turbinoplasty by various methods depending upon the patient’s needs. We rarely perform conventional turbinectomy and routinely perform powered turbinoplasty and coblation assisted turbinoplasty. Coblation assisted turbinoplasty offers very comfortable day care turbinoplasty and the patient can join his work same day.
Nose forms the most obvious and cosmetically significant part of one’s face. We take care of all aspects of Rhinoplasty (Nose job/Nose reshaping) and nasal reconstruction. Along with achievement of the long-term cosmesis, we take care to preserve and improve the functional aspect of the nose.
We specialise in both open and closed rhinoplasty techniques though majority of our patients undergo open rhinoplasty. Most important aspect of our rhinoplasty is our endeavour for preserving and improving the nasal function at the time of correcting the external shape of nose.
We specialise in reconstruction of the nose, creating a robust shape and profile that resists collapse and change over time. This technique is ideal for patients wanting to ensure that nasal function is preserved from any surgery. It is essential for those with prior surgery or post-trauma (including sporting) injuries to the nose.
